1988 Mazda B2200 Reg Cab - Radio Help?
Hi, I'm new here!
I've got 2-3 questions that I'm hoping people might have the answer to.
1: I just installed a radio, and the Red/Black wire doesn't provide a Switched12v+ like its supposed to. I'm wondering if anyones got an idea for what wire, where, i could use to make it so i dont have to hit the power button every time i start the truck?
2: What size is the bed on these little trucks?
3: Opinion Question: My trucks red with some weird gray things down the side that look factory. I'm trying to decide what thickness to tint the topper. We're turning the truck bed into a mini-camper, as i hate tents. Any amount of tint is legal in this area.
Thanks guys :-D

OK, checked on mine. You can always tap into the fuse box like I posted earlier. I'd recommend (1) using the 15A fuse marked "cigar" (third slot from the right, bottom) as that only needs that current when using the cigarette lighter (as a lighter, not for cell phone charging, etc., which uses way less amps)
(2) using the 10A fuse marked "meter", extreme upper left corner.
In each case, use the fuse end at the middle of the fuse box, not the one at the edges. Do not use the 15A fuse labeled "room", that's "always hot". It's probably good practice to have an inline fuse in that hot wire to the stereo. You can route this wire underneath the dash over to the radio console location; use cable ties, etc., to keep it away from stuffthat moves, like pedal levers, hand brake....
I have power taps into both of those locations on my B2200 (e.g. aftermarket cruise control on "meter"), have never blown a fuse on it, ever.
