wierd Issue
I have a 92 mazda mx3 that intermittenly loses power driving down the road. it will idle but when giving it throttle theengine boggs down and about stalls. Shut it off and restart it and problem goes away.I checked for vacuum leaks and the throttle positionsensor has its 5 volt reference signal and respondes to throttle changes fine. MAP sensor is old but seems to be working just fine. I do not have a wiring diagram but I am open for any suggestions. (girl friends car, if I dont get this fixed soon I'm in the dog house haha)

RE: wierd Issue
The most common problem on those as they get older is a torn air filter to throttlebody boot. The airflow meter has a flap instead of a hotwire so if that boot is torn it can do strange things. Also move the flap with your hand to see if it moves freely. Of course it could be a lot of things. I would pull the distributor rotor off and check it closely as they burn a hole in them sometimes and act that way as well. It is way overdue a coil at that age so check it closely or just replace it unless you already have.
