Both seat belts have been seized since i've had my MX-3 and i'm wondering if anybody has had theirs fixed somewhat recently or know if any dealers are still able to fix it?

If not, is there any way/where I could get the right parts to fix them myself? I've searched online and found no parts for them.

 

That will be difficult.

I assume they are manual belts, not motorized ones.

The seat belt mechanism is not to be messed with. You can try and see if the belt itself got twisted and stuck, but you cannot go into the seat belt winder and fix it. There are too many chances of things going wrong.

There may be only one way: replace them. Finding new ones will be horrendously difficult and expensive.
Finding used ones will be difficult because the cars are getting rare and you have no way knowing if they have been involved with an accident. The belt material will stretch if they were used in an impact situation and after that they are no longer safe.
Non the less I would scour junk yards for MX3 and MX6 and Ford Probe, also 323 hatchback. I don't know if the MX6/Probe/323 belts fit. I figure they are long enough for 2 door vehicles and they are likely to use the same types of belt.

I replaced the driver's belt in our protege with a used one from a self serve junk yard. The donor vehicle showed no signs of body damage or repair.

So... I would call the dealership and ask to speak with the service department. Once you get them on the phone tell them that you have 1993 MX-3 and that you would like to check your vin to see if Recall Campaign #72803 was completed on it. If not, free brand new setup. That recall is for the automatic seat belts and it is a safety recall therefore, I believe, there is no expiration.

You are the main man. I have been getting plenty grief from state vehicle inspectors about my automated seat belts not working; especially since parts are so hard to come by.

I followed your advice about calling the dealership and asking about the seatbelt recall and BOOM,,,,,,,,,no repair for the recall was done on my car. So, now the dealership has scheduled to replace the seatbelts for FREE !!!!!
