Default Can't find the crank sensor on 1992 MX3 1.6L

I have a 1992 MX3 with 1.6L non-turbo engine. The OBD code says that the crank angle sensor is bad, and that matches the symptoms (cranks, but won't start, no spark). I have a Chilton's manual, looked all through this site, and all over the web, but I can not find where to locate this sensor. Some pictures show it near the crank pulley near the front of the car.

I assume it is on the passenger side somewhere around the crank pulley. Wiring diagram shows 2 ground connections and three wires (white, orange, and red/white). I looked at pictures for the sensor on line. I can't find anything near the pulley or on that side of the engine that looks remotely like it. I've jacked up the car and looked from the bottom.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's inside the distributor.
