RPM problem
So first time posting . here is the deal , my wife drove it to a town near by an used the cruse control along the way . well she stopped for a drink an when she got off the road an to the first light it was still running at 2000-2500 rpm she pulls in an puts it in park an it stays the same .she kills it pi is up her things an restarts the car all to hear it rev up again an stay there . I had her take it to the closest auto store an they put it on the PC to check for codes . nadda no codes came up . but they said it could be some sensor so they unpluged it an the car did fine for a few miles . well after they its back to the same 2500 rpm . any idea what this could be or why its doing this ? Any help would be great .

It depends on what year it is but most likely the cruise control cancel switch screwed into the brake master cylinder needs replacing. They have been recalled on most models. If it is an older model then the cancel switch is behind the brake pedal.
