MPV Immobilizer issue?
Hi everyone,
New to forum and think I have an immobilizer problem with my 2001 MPV. In trying to start it last few weeks, I have gotten a start then immediate stall a couple of times (otherwise no start at all). Using the key in/out procedure, I find the key dash light will either stay ON or not come on at all. It does not flash on and off. Some are saying this symptom is the ECM or immobilizer module itself. Is there any way to test these 2 parts to know if they need replacement? Towing this car to a dealer would be a major cost and then who knows what the fix will be from there on. Thanks to all for reading......

Check on mpvclub.com
A while ago I posted instructions on how to get rid of the imobilizer...well, sort of (complete with pics)
Your problem could be as simple as a bad antenna, remove it and locate another key inside of it while starting, if that doesn't help you are kind of screwed, the cheapest way out will be locating an ECM out of a van without the imobilizer option, or having your's flashed to such.
You can try by swapping parts, there are only 4 components: 1. key. 2 antenna
3. control module 4. ECU. keep in mind that all have to match (via flashing) IE dont expect another control module to work with your keys out of the box ect.
