2000 mpv oxygen sensor

I'm a Protege guy, but this will help. Locate your exhaust manifold; it will have a heat shield with a caution hot label on it, Follow its run from the engine toward the exhaust and you'll find a hole or cutout of some kind in it with a thing that looks like a spark plug with a crimped connector on it. That's the upstream O2 sensor. (Going further toward the exhaust, the bulge is the catalytic converter, downstream of which is another O2 sensor. This sensor is the one which drives the check engine light).

Your engine has three catalytic converters and six oxygen sensors. Bank one is the side of the engine facing the firewall (the backside, when standing in front of the opened hood). The bank one upstream sensor is located between the cylinder head and the pre-catalyst in the exhaust manifold.
