Really Need Help - 99 Milly S
The question w/ history to follow: error codes 00769 and 01028 from flashing check engine light.
History: Bought this car 7-8 years ago with 28k miles. Engine light came on shortly after and the the Mazda dealership said the catalytic converter was bad and i needed to replace the exhaust manifolds at something like $1600. They also said I could keep driving but with slight performance reduction along with less efficient fuel mileage. Never replaced manifold.
Fast forward to current. A month ago I had my mechanic replace valve cover gasket, upper radiator hose, both front axles and spark plugs, among a few other small things. Leave the shop and I have to have it towed back. Car bogged down and i couldn't get power. Next morning mechanic starts the car up and it runs fine and has ever since, till yesterday.
After the repairs last month my heater hose blew out and I was having it replaced (I had a temporary fix till the part came in). I pick up the car last night and I get 1/4 mile from the shop and the check engine light starts flashing. Take it back this morning and it pops error codes 01028 and 00769, which I can find nothing about. All codes I see start with a P. Mechanic says I would have to take to Mazda to get info on codes unless I can find from internet.
What do you guys think?

well, you first messed up when you bought the car. that car is warranteed for 8 yrs or 80k for emissions. they should have fixed it for free. all obd2 cars are like that. next, whatever scanner you got aint reading the correct codes. so get the proper scanner, and you will see what the codes are. probably 1525/26 and 1540, amongst others
