Heys guys I have a 1999 miata. I acually have 2 problems. The first is not that bad I have a code p0402, It says problem with EGR How can I fix this? The 2nd is my car would not crank last night, it still would not crank today, but when I tried it again just to see if one more time was the charm, it finally did cranked up. What could be wrong? The battery is at 12.65 so the battery is charged up. Also tho throw out there it has 172,000 miles on it.

 

get an new egr valve and check the alternator and the starter and wireing

 

I have narowed it down to the fuel pump, the battery stays charged, and when it did run for the 2 days before it died again I ran a DVOM to the battery when running it showed 14 volts so the charging system was good. I had spark when I pulled the plug wire and put it near a ground. So it has to be fuel. Is there any thing else to check if I didn't? Also one more question I put it up at another post but are the 99 miatas fuel pump removal just like the 94 to 98 I have a book on the 94-98 model but not the 99. If it is the same it should be simple to replace.
