Turn off the "Advanced Key Removed from Vehicle Warning Beep"...?
Hello all!
Anyone here that knows if it is possible to turn off the "Advanced Key Removed from Vehicle Warning Beep", I find that feature quite annoying some early mornings.
Say for instance that I turn on the car and leave it idling when fetching my back pack, my gun, the hunting dog, etc etc and walk back and forth between my front door and the car and every time I close a door the car warns me of the terrible fate of driving off without the key(!) with a set of (quite loud) double-beeps :-)
My local Mazda dealer claims at least that it is not possible to turn this off but maybe someone knows of some hidden feature to do just that - say by pressing the hazard switch 13 times when the full moon is out ;-)
Or at least give me some hints how to just cut the wires to the circuit - I have tried to listen from where the sound comes from and it seems to be originating from the left hand side (outside) mirror somewhere...
Really a nice car but a bit 'over protecting', it beeps when the temperature drops below +4 C, it buzzes every time I press the brake pedal if a rented trailer has a broken brake light, etc. :-)
Regards,
/Rikard
PS One can always leave the key in the center console but then you might forget the key there later on....

Unfortunately there is no wire to cut that won't cause other problems. You could put a piece of velcro on the dash and on your remote/key and pretend that you have put the key in the ignition like the good ole days. Or you could invest in another key and keep it in the car. They build what people buy/want I'm afraid and that's what people buy/want for the most part.

Thanks hixx!
At least then I know that I cannot turn off/cut any cable... I guess I will have to leave the key in the center console while loading the car with gear on those early mornings.
Wonderful car anyway!
