Hello Everyone, I"M new to this forum. I have a 2010 Mazda CX9 GT with less then 10K miles. I'm having a problem with my rotors / pads. My steering wheel shakes when i apply the brakes at 55mph or greater. i want to know if this is covered under the warranty.

 

I doubt this will be covered, it sounds like you warped your rotors by using the brakes incorrectly OR when you/they rotated/installed your tires you/they over-torqued the wheels on (impact gun) and warped them that way. Do you use your left foot to brake? Do you have lots of hills/mountains in your area?

Although, with that low mileage (sounds like a lot of city driving--don't tell the dealer!) the dealer might be nice to you, if you Kiss their A.S.S.
It all depends on the dealer.

 

Thanks all for the quick reply back. I acutally took the car to the dealer on saturday and it turned out to be warped rotors. they didn't cover under warranty because i had the car for over a year, and it's going to cost me $390 plus labor to repair. The told me they will work on the price with me. I acutally went to a near by auto parts store and bought the rotors and pads for $210.

 

MazdaTrol - No i don't have hills where i live i'm actually in NYC and i think it's alot of the stop and go traffic that's doing it.

 

It COULD be stop and go but you would have to be generating ALOT of heat that way to warp the rotors, city traffic wont usually do that from my experience though, I do TONS of stops and starts every morning (several hundred) and worst is I am eating my rotors and pads very fast. Makes me wonder if they warped during the last service if they took the tires off........
