Question 2013 CX 9 AWD-Replace Rear Struts?

During my 45,000 oil change, the service advisor told me that my rear passenger strut needs to be replaced. I was concerned to say the least and was assured that I could wait until the oil change after the next one. Of course, if one strut is replaced, the other needs to be as well and add in the alignment and I was quoted $700.

After talking to other people, a 2013 should not need to have the struts replaced so soon. And, if they are necessary, they should still be under warranty.

I'm seeking advice from other Mazda owners and experts. What are your thoughts?

(I commute 50 miles/day x 5 days on the freeway with around-town driving on weekends and some local trips under 120 miles every six to eight weeks.)

Thanks.
