Dead pedal position uncomfortable?

Dead pedal position uncomfortable?
I was recently on a long road trip and my left leg was starting to get uncomfortable. On my other vehicles, I usually place my left foot on the dead pedal and have no problems. On the CX-5, leaving my foot on the dead pedal for a long period of time will cause knee discomfort. If I try to place it somewhere else, it gets worse.
I think the dead pedal is too far back and the angle is too steep. If I shift my seat father back, I won't be able to floor the brakes or the throttle. What do you guys think? Do any of you other CX-5 owners find the dead pedal to be uncomfortable?

In 3.5 years of actively following 2 CX-5 forums, this is the first time I've seen this issue raised. The position is fine for me, very unlike the 2007 Nissan Frontier I had before this from which I had to remove the original DP and replace it with a much smaller block of hardwood so that my foot wasn't kicked up at a very unnatural angle.

Came across this random thread doing searches on how to solve this issue. I have the exact same problem. HATE that this cars comfort is ruined by the angle of the dead pedal. I might just rip up the carpet and cut the thing out completely if I can.
