I've been delaying my CX-5 purchase as there are reports Mazda will bring a Diesel version to the USA later this year.

Does anyone know if this is actually happening and when?

 

I think I read in C&D around early 2013.

 

What does everyone think the odd are that there will be a manual AWD version available in the US? My guess is slim to none.

 

Agreed, slim to none for manual AWD diesel in US, incremental sales certainly would not justify it from a business standpoint.

 

I would love a manual, AWD diesel of this car. It probably won't happen though. What about just a manual diesel? for under $26K? please!

 

We have had the diesel CX5 here in NZ right from the initial launch a few months ago.

 

Thats what i'm waiting for, the diesel. I hope it happens,I ask dealer and they say it won't happen.....jim

 

Grim_reaper...can you tell how much more the diesel powered CX-5's are selling for compared to the gas models in NZ? I'm seriously awaitng for the diesel to come to the U.S. but was wondering what the price premium will be with the diesels. I know the models in NZ and US may differ a little. Thanks!

 

The base 150hp diesel here in Austria is about $2k more than the gas version.
