Default Buying a new CX-5 Sport

I'm getting ready to test drive a CX-5 next week. I've had it with my current car and everything I read and hear about the CX-5 looks very good. Is there anything I should be aware of when picking a Sport? Any gotchas when buying a Mazda?

The sport is different. The Good news is that it is available with a Standard Transmission.

the bad news is that that choice for some reason eliminates most other options. For example the 6 speed Sport is not available with a back up cam. The sport automatic is!

It also has the smaller engine. 155 Hp All other trims have 184 HP.

Most of the other toys (Leather Heated seats, LED tracking headlights ETC ETC are not available. Even some colors are not available.

Its a good car and if it fits your needs it is a great car and a bargain. You might want to study this. http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/musa...ures_Specs.pdf

Thanks for the advice and link. Are you happy with the quality of Mazda?

I am very pleased. This is the second Mazda in the family (04 Mazda 6)

The most unique quality of both is the fun of driving them. (Zoom Zoom)

Happy with the car itself (14.5 GT, et. al), there really is no other choice for drivers in this class. 35,000 miles and nary a problem of any sort. Mazda somehow made a mini-ute that is fun to drive. The divorce from Ford is certainly working out well

The only problem is that the dealer network is very sparse. We had such a bad experience with the local dealer that we will never step in there again. We have not taken care of the recall issue yet so we are having a problem finding a place to do this. Never occurred to me to consider this.

Bottom line is that despite the dealer, there is no question that we would make this exact purchase again.

I recently found a used '15 Sport with the 2.5 engine and 8000 miles. I didn't know that was an option on the sport model, not sure if it is on the '16.
It's the 3rd Mazda I've owned and so far I am very happy with it- zoom zoom.

Default A new Mazda in the family

Last Thursday we brought a new CX-5 Sport home and are very pleased with it. It's a 2.5, automatic and it drives like a dream. We traded in a 2002 Volvo S60 that was pretty long in the tooth and the comparison between the two is light night and day.

Since mid-2014, any CX-5 with auto trans comes with the 2.5. The 2.0 comes only with manual trans Sport and is there for bragging rights on gas mileage.
