They were no help, dealer stated, that in order to replace the removable spring, a new caliper has to be installed, cause mazda doesn't sell the spring separately, nor willing to give a part number for it.

It sounds like there may not be a PN for the spring. Here's a blow-up of the rear brake assembly. REAR BRAKE MECHANISMS. Fits: Mazda CX-5 | Jim Ellis MazdaMaybe it will help. I'm not sure which spring you're referring to.

Thanks for the Picture of the assembly, its the Spring in the upper left corner its to retract the emergency brake arm. Doesn't show a P/n. Very surprised that there isnt one, guess it a way to make $$ for a small part.

You might try an internet search of junk yards. What happened to the originals?

How old is your CX5? Is it still under warranty? What makes you think the spring is weak?

mazda said not under warranty, I feel they are weak, is because the emergency brake arm does not fully retract, even when cable is disconnected, so that leaves out binding of the cable run.

De-adjust the handbrake cable.
Remove the caliper & pads.
Wind in the piston, get someone to slowly press the brake pedal until the piston moves back out about 15mm / 1/2 inch.
Wind the piston back in.
Reassemble.
Pump the brake pedal 50 times.
Check where the lever sits.
