Default '88 626 with Turbo, ABS and 4WS

I just got a 1988 626 with Turbo, ABS and 4WS. It's a 4-door sedan but has all these "bells and whistles", the turbo I understand but what is 4WS? The car has special wheels that say 4WS on them, also on the steering wheel, and an emblem on the rear of the car. Anyone know anything about this? I'm told this car is very rare. Any input or info will be much appreciated!

Whats up tonylinc welcome to the forums, Your car is rare cause your model was only around for a couple of years, the 4WS means Four-Wheel-Steering. Your model the MX6 and also the 1988-1994 prelude also came with 4WS. The 626, MX6 and also the prelude were the first 4WS models in America. Usually you have only the front two wheels turning on a car, well on the 4WS system you have all 4 turning, the front which is controlled by you and the back which is controlled by a computer and actuators, but the rear wheels dont turn as much as the front wheels do. When you turn the front wheels(right or left) your rears turn the other way, it was made to help handling. You actually have a control option to were you can shut off the rear wheels from steering. Well n e way that explains why you have 4WS everywhere on you car.
