626 GXI Keeps stalling
Hi All,
Hoping you can help me with a mechanical problem.
I have a Mazda 626 1.8 GXI - 1996. It has just started to stall every time the revs drop below 300-400rpm.
It starts up fine every time, and drives great aswell.
I've had people telling me it might be the Idle Control Valve thats faulty.
Any help or advice with this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Cookimonsta

RE: 626 GXI Keeps stalling
The Idle Control Valve would definitely be most suspect as its only purpose is to maintain a correct idle speed. If engine will idle at all then try disconnecting the electrical connector to it and see if there is any change in RPM. If you have a means of checking the resistance of the valve across the two pins it should be around 10 ohms.
