Default 1997 626

my 626 has had the transmission rebuilt about 9 months ago and now is shifting strangely, at about 11,000 miles on it. I took it back to the transmission shop and they told me that I have an evap code and what ever caused this code is likely the problem with the shifting problems. I bought a new gas cap and replaced it, cleared the codes and now I am waiting for the PCM to run through its paces and see if the code returns. The car shifts harder than usual (sometimes) and when I am cruising at around 40-45mph at a constant speed the damn thing can't figure out which gear to be in and just shifts back and forth. Has anyone else had these kinds of issues? has anyone had any evap control problems that affected transmission performance? I have my doubts but we'll see if I've at least fixed the P0441 code. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
