My 97 MPV pulled a P1455 code today- what is it? And how to get the CEL off? I appreciate any help offered.

 

P1455 is telling you that the engine computer is receiving a fuel level indication that is out of range. Is the fuel gauge on the dash operating normally? If not then a fuel level sending unit in the fuel tank could be at fault.
Keep in mind also that your van has a maintenance reminder system that will turn your CEL on every 80,000 miles but if you are able to retrieve codes then this is probably not the case.

 

Yeppers- gas gauge is broken. Been fueling up, and resetting the trip and then keeping an eye on my miles driven, only problem- don't know how many miles is pushing it in my MPV. Plan on getting it fixed this week- thanks, babyhuey- I have been looking up others posts on their CELs seeing if I can spot the same as mine, and you really know your stuff!!

 

This is what I do Monday thru Friday from 8 till 6 zmanzke. Look at Mazda cars and find out what is wrong with them. Have been doing this since before the MPV was even introduced in 89 as a Master tech at the dealer. Just like to throw out a few pointers here and there to help those that do not have all the information at their fingertips that I am able to obtain or know off hand. We have a White 91 V6 4X4 that has become my wifes baby since I convinced her to ditch the 92 corsisca she had before we met. Hated working on that damn thing.

 

My ex-fiance had a Corsica. I never, and I mean never, seen a car in the shop more than that thing. Some motorhead peeled out around a corner on the ice covered streets and rear-ended it. We were in our apartment watching TV and heard the collision. The trunk was on top of the backseat. I was quite pleased, although I just put new Firestones on it.Hit her so hard the glovebox was on the passenger seat.
