Hi,

I was wondering if someone can help me with an issue for my car.
I have a 2003 mazda 6.

I tried to start my car and it didn't start so I popped the hood and noticed that my battery leaked acid all over. Well this isn't the only issue. I also noticed this hose that goes into my engine block and it was completely off. Below are some of the pictures of it. My question is what is this hose and what does it do and what do I use to make this hose stay on the engine block so it won't fall off again? Is there a special type of glue or anything or is this a more serious problem that needs to towed to a mechanic? I didn't change my battery yet because I want to know if this hose was caused by the battery or if the battery caused the hose to pop off when I tried to start it. The only symptom that I noticed is that this whole week my car seemed to start up more slowly/weak and was quite at first when i would turned on the car. I did have my spark plugs changed about two months ago and my car has 127,000 miles on it

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That hose is a breather hose, I think the other end goes into the intake hose. It shouldn't fall off, if it does put a cable tie or hose clamp around it for extra tension.
