2008 Mazda 5 Passenger-side pretensioner resistance low
Hi all, Would appreciate some assistance.
I have a 2008 Mazda 5, and was getting an intermittent code, 3,4, from the SRS Airbag -- passenger side pretensioner resistance is low.
I bought a new seatbelt from zoomzoomnation, and installed it. The code went away for 3 months. Now, the code is back again -- again it's intermittent - every couple of days. I'm wondering what to do/check next. (should I replace the seatbelt *again*??) Should I replace connectors? What other parts of the circuit might give this code? Should I just replace the SRS module (used or new?)?
Also, (just curious) would this error stop all passenger airbags from deploying in the event of an accident?
The 2008 was purchased used with 90K miles on it. (Just had transmission and transmission control module replaced -- this has not been a fun car to own!)
Any wisdom from the group is deeply appreciated.
Thanks!

Unfortunately the Mazda5 isn't sold in Australia, so I am unable to access a workshop manual. What you need to do is get hold of a wiring diagram for the SRS system. Disconnect the battery, unplug the SRS ECU and check resistance on the wiring between the SRS ECU & the passenger side pretensioner.

Mazda5 touring SRS light flashing
I am searching this site as well for the flashing SRS light. I believe the code is 4-3. I have been searching the manual but confused if this is the airbag, or the seatbelt as it seems to refer to both? Is this something I can have a friends husband fix easily? I have less than 60,000 miles if that makes any difference.

Let me know if you find anything
It refers to the seatbelt pretensioner. It could be the seatbelt, or any of the connections back to the srs control module.
I spent$200+ on a new seat belt, replaced it myself. The light went away for 3 months, then came back with a vengeance...
The air bags are disabled when the light blinks, apparently.
Would live some help from Mazda. A huge dealer here in Pittsburgh didn't know what to do.
Let me know what happens.

Nope. Blinky light still blinks. I think I need to clean all the connectors going back to the module... But... That's not going to happen. Let me know if you find something that fixes this.
