Default SPAL Fan Controller - can't wait to install

Underhood heat has been a bear since installing headers. I found the SPAL FAn Controller that allows full ECU control of fan functions, but then supplements with earlier-on setting, as well as lower-temp off setting. (At whatever temps you select)

I farted around for too long and it went out of production. Today I picked-up a brand new one (as well as 2 used ones) on Ebay. Very jazzed to get it installed....

Did you have the headers wrapped to keep in the exhaust heat? Maybe put on some aftermarket wrapping or a heat shield to keep your electrics from dying prematurely. Have any pics of the headers? Any difference in power or sound?

Using wrap in a climate with regular wet weather is a major mistake. It is an invitation to rust/rot. Wrap manufacturers often warn against street use. Unfortunately I didn't realize the 'ceramic coat' was just a ceramic powder coat at the time of install...

Definitely a change in sound. Borderline what I consider acceptable. I don't want to sound like a 20 yr old with a fart can on a Civic.

Can you fab up a heatshield by chance? Or maybe just shield the electrics? That is one NICE looking header setup

Well I am in my 20s and my 3 and 323 kinda sound like that but only because the insides of the mufflers are falling out, need to get new mufflers before winter I think or just wait till they fall off or blow chunks out the rear.

What 'electronics'? My problem is overall underhood temps. This controller will allow me to set the fan to come-on when I want, most likely about 200. Then shut-off when I want, probably about 190.
