Hey I have a 91 Mazda rx7 1.3 non turbo manual that needs a motor?

Does anyone know where I can get a really good deal on one?  Also someone told me that the motors have to be rebuilt every 30-60 thousand miles.  Is that true?

Thank you for any advice

this company is very reputable. i know a lot of people that have gotten motors there. all that they have in rotary is turbo motors, but they are complete and if you add the ecu, you can run a turbo without any problems. the price is right on there.

it is a common myth that rotary's have to be rebuilt often. the main thing about them is that you need to let them warm up before you start driving. there are components that are aluminum and components that are steel. this makes for two different expansion rates, especially if you are driving it to warm it up. this will cause the gaskets to shred and eventually leak. if you treat them right, they should be able to give you well over 100k without a hiccup. i have seen rotary's that have gone 200k without a rebuild at all.

i dont know about finding a motor, but my 83 has 385 thousand miles on the original motor, and it still purrs like a kitten, if you warm it up, and dont over rev the engine, it will last way longer, if you abuse it, and are too impatient to wait for it to warm up, you will be lucky to get sixty thousand miles...
