Try living in the Northeast, then you can complain about ice.

We are still trying to recover from a little freezing rain storm from last week. Stupid idiots need to learn to drive around here
You lot are talking about ice in the South, but it's over 60 degrees in the Northeast today...

Back in 78 when I got my Privilege to drive (drivers License to the rest of you not from Massachusetts), I showed up on my Appointment date at the said time given to me in a snowstorm, the guy from DMV looked at me and asked if I drove there, I said yes and he said to step over and get my picture taken LOL.
Around here they cancel school if it has snow in the forecast, in Mass we had school when there was 6 inches on the ground and it was still snowing.

Yup. Two different cultures and mindsets.
When I was still in HS in Pa, our long time (and locally raised) Principal retired and the SD hired a guy from Florida. I had never seen so many snow days used in a school year as that first year he was there. If it even hinted of a snow storm he'd close school early. Often we'd be on our way home and the snow "shower" would stop!!
We called them driver's permits in Pa. which you had to have for at least a month before you could apply for your junior, or "Cinderella" licence. This allowed you to drive solo, but not after 12 midnight or before 6AM, iirc, and was a probationary period. I checked w/the wife and she agrees. At 18 you were a full fledged driver w/all privileges.
