STARTER STILL WON"T DISENGAGE

No christmas present for me! Installed BRAND NEW STARTER and it still won't disengage?Checked flywheel for burs and didn't find any?

Will it not disengage because is mechanically stuck or electrically still energized???
Try pulling the small diameter wire from the ignition switch off at the starter and see if will then disengage then.
Maybe you are still getting a voltage signal at that wire after the key has been released from start position.
