Has anyone found/searched for perfromance parts for the MS3? I want to get one, but being an avid autoxer i know I will need stiffer dampers, better brake pads and possibly a beefier RSB. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've spoken with Koni, Hawk, Tein, Hotchkis and AEM and no one has anything in development or planned (actually Koni specifically said they are exluding the MS3 parts from development!).
WHAT??? Koni is EXCLUDING the MS3??? WTF??
There is very little available at the moment for the car. I've been looking for stuff for 2 weeks and have found virtually nothing. To be honest, I don't think you'll need to change much for Auto-X. Some of the reviews I've read said the car is spectacular as-is.
BTW, first post, and I put down a deposit on a red MS3 GT a couple of weeks ago and it's due to come in end of this week. The dealer has had a Sport MS3 in red for two weeks and is still avail for some reason. Dealer told me everyone wants black or silver. Aren't there enough silver cars on the road? It's time to be an attention whore with that beautiful, bright red! :)
I'm moving from VWs for the first time in nearly a decade. I have a 337 (almost sold) that I absolutely LOVE, but is not a practical family car (we just had a baby) given it's set up like a race car and is 2-door. The MS3 won out over an Audi A3 since it has a lot more room and costs $4k less. I'll miss my GTI, but on't miss VW's crappy service and their new MKV line looks hideous. I can't wait to bring my car to Limerock, NHIS and Watkins Glen next year.....

I would have been glad to take a red one. But my dealer only had black and silver. I took the black. Actually it is black metallic and kind of looks navy blue at night.

I just took delivery of my true red m3. It's my first mazda. I had a 2006 evo ix. I had to get rid of it. I got way to much attention in it and the insurance didn't help either. OH but I do miss the speed. Not to say that the mazdaspeed is not fast. I really like the speed3 much more then my evo ix .The speed has amazing torque curve. I got the true red GT. I went to the dealer and asked for one and he said that the wait would be 3 to 5 months. but he had a customer who ordered one and felt it to be to small so I bought it that same day. lucky me. I can't wait for the tuner kit to come out. anyway that's my story.

Tomorrow, I will be taking my car back to the dealership to have the hatch glass replaced. About 4 days after I bought it, I found some scratches in the glass. The car had been in my garage since the day I bought it (due to the fact I had the flu), so I know there is no way it could have happened after I bought it. The reason I didn't see them before is because of the tint. To see them from the outside is difficult and you have to look at an angle. But from the inside the are quite visible. I found them the first time I was cleaning the glass.
The dealership immediately agreed to replace the glass, and give me a loaner car to boot. Of course, the owner is a friend of mine, and he knows I would not BS him, so that helped.

Car & Driver mentioned a CAI and cat-back exhaust that will add an additional 30 HP. I assume this is NOT the current Mazdaspeed CAI and exhaust featured on Mazda's site?
BTW, those whose dealers say they can't get the color you want are full of poop. They can swap with other dealers with no problem.

They are unique parts designed for the Mazdaspeed3, not the Mazdaspeed accessories currently available for the Mazda3.

Ok guys and gals, i just joined up here after reading all the posts you guys have made. Ive been wanting to get into a MazdaSpeed 3 since the day i saw it at the LA Auto Show in January. I really want the Grand Touring in Red. Well since i didnt "reserve" one most dealerships here want to mark up the MSRP 2000$ more than what it is. Although this is not a problem usually, i feel like i have to pay it as ive heard there is only a limited quantity of these cars available. Is this true?

Shop around, you can find them for MSRP.

I would say the longer you wait, the more chance you are going to pay more than sticker.
I got mine a bit below MSRP (the dealer is an old friend of mine). But I know for a fact the the other one was sold for sticker only. Where do you live?

Thats why I got mine right away didnt trust dealers when the demand goes high

I emailed the mods about making this thread a sticky, but so far they have not responded. I think the S3 is important enough to warrant this, but apparently the powers that be, do not.

So how many S3s have you seen around your city or town? For me "0". Another one was purchased from the same dealer as I got mine, but I have yet to see it tooling around. Hell, the people here have never heard of it. They automatically assume it is a regular 3.

I'll be surprized to see any for a year or so. There will only be less than 20 in this metro area of almost 1 million in 2007. An MS3 will be a needle in the haystack. I drive quite a bit, so lots of people will see mine, but most will have no clue what it is.
My last car had 6500 built the first year, around 3500 the second, and after two years, I would usually go 6 months before spotting another one in traffic.

There is one other here in my city its a cosmic blue one sport edition I found this out by going on another mazda forum, by the way my check engine light came on today anybody know why this would be?

these days, check engine lights can mean almost anything. I would take it in right away and have it looked at.

Did you recently gas up? If you top of the tank too high or you don't tighten the gas cap it can set off your CEL.

I read something like that before (on a different model). Seems they had to replace the gas cap.

my CEL came on 2 days ago. I had it scanned today and the obd scanner picked up 5 codes. I'm sending it back to mazda to be looked at. One thing I noticed was that the tail pipe is really black. Running real rich. anybody else having this issue? this sucks!

Same with mine its running rich too my tail pipe is black as well, I have an appointment monday. I gassed up 140 miles ago when the cel light came on and I checked the cap it was on tight.

Yeah the tailpipe on mine is black too. I assumed it was normal, as I don't see any actual smoke from the exhaust.
msp3

No black smoke either here, I guess the tailpipe being black is normal unless you have black smoke .

DO NOT pay a DIME over sticker. Any dealer that says you have to pay more, you just tell them to go f*ck themselves. I am getting mine for MSRP and the dealer has had a GT in the showroom for 3 weeks. In fact, I don't know of any dealers here in CT where they are marking the car up. Anyone who pays extra for this car is an idiot.
