I just bought a used Mazda CX-9 and I am trying to figure out how to reset the hands-free Bluetooth passcode. Is this something I can do myself or will I need to take it to a dealer.
When I try to use Bluetooth, I am prompted by the system the following message:
"Hands-free system is locked, please state passcode".
Since I didn't setup this passcode initially I have no idea what it could be. I have tried guessing what it might be but have had no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Warren

I have scanned the owners manual and can find nothing on how to reset the code. My guess is the dealership needs to reset it for you.

Did you ever figure out how to reset the passcode for Bluetooth? I just also bought a used CX-9 and have the same problems. I dread taking it to the dealer to get it reset.

set it up first selecting pairing options, follow the prompt. i was able to change my passcode by initially deleting all paired phones then started all over again with the set up instruction.
give it a try!

I have tried but been unable to locate a manual in .pdf for the hands free kit, my car came without the manual so I am in trouble.
Paired my phone to it but that's about it.
Any ideas?

Follow the pairing option prompt and then delete all the phones and start over. You select the code during a new pairing and also set the priority of the phones at that time.
