Removing my radion...help

Just bought an 03 protege. The lady I bought it from said that the Cd player/changer stopped working. All of her cd's are still in it. I was hoping to remove the radio to either replace it or take it to Mazda. However I can not get it out. I can get the trim surrounding it partly off, however I can't get it completely off. Wondering if there is some secret to this. Also wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

This is a link for a 2002, yours should be similar, if not the same.  You want section 9-20 page 6.  You used to be able to get the radio removal tools at Walmart.  Should be able to get them at big chain cart part stores.  Check out the diagnostic section.  Might help you fix it, or at least get the CD's out.
