If you've got the screws out (there should be 2 per side), then just take some fishing line and run it back and forth under the mounting towers. There should be some adhesive foam around the perimeter where it meets the trunk lid, fishing line is the best way to cut this foam without damaging the paint. (This foam ensures water doesn't go through the mounting holes into your trunk.) Make sure to replace the foam when you re-install.

Is there a reason for taking the spoiler off? Leave it on.

not everybody likes the look of spoilers and they are a pain to clean under. He could aslo be upgrading. but several people say that a spoiler makes a modern car look dated.

you can also use a bead of silicone where it meets the decklid instead of foam

i personally think that our mazda6es look nicer with the rear spoiler on, i've seen them with it off and i just can't fathom the look very well. that's just my personal opinion. do what you want, it's what the owner of the vehicle likes, not what i think.

Ive always thought the Mazda 6 looks great with the spoiler. The lip spoiler looks too small on the 6 body IMO.

Also if you are taking it out just to see how it would look without one, why not take a rear pic of your car and just photo shop it out. Can save you the hassle of removing it and putting it on again.

When I purchased my 6, I had them put a spoiler on. I don't think it looks as sporty and sleek without it. Just my opinion.

that's what i thought as well. unless you are going for an aftermarket wing that is better to your liking, then the mazda stock spoiler will be suitable enough.
