We just bought my wife a 2008 3 sedan with the S Touring Package. It has the Moonroof/6CD in dash package also. Does this headunit support mp3 cd's? I've read that it does, but I've burned 2 discs, using both formats (ISO and ISO+Joliet, Long Files Names and only 8+3) and also one with folders and one with everything in the root folder and it doesn't seem to recognize either. It acts like to starts to play track 1 but no audio comes out and you can't skip tracks. Which makes me think it's just seeing a data track and not seperate MP3 files. We love this car, and I can't wait to break it in so I can see what it can really do :). Now I know why Mazda owners are so loyal to their cars. Well any help is appreciated thanks.

there should be a logo right next to the spot where you put in CDS...it will say 6CD and should have an MP3 logo right next to it on the left hand side I eblieve of the opening...if not it is the right.  If it does not have the MP3 logo than it is a negative on it supporting MP3 cds...

See right at the right of the opening or the left...

If it plays Mp3's then it will say "MP3" just above the 6CD icon (that's the the left of the slot just next to the LOAD button).  The logo on the right is the generic "Compact Disc" logo.

Mazda does have a 6CD Mp3 player that's been available since 2006.  It's a dealer accessory, and is not standard on any models.  That being said some dealers add them onto the cars they buy to bump the price up a bit for unwary customers.  The Mp3 changer runs around $450 from the dealer.

Very true.  Though if I were buying a new car I'd probably add the Mp3 changer onto the price of the car so it could be financed in.  Then I would take the stock deck (making sure the dealer gave it to me ;)) and sell it on the side to make back some money.

haha. well considering my mp3 player was 400 and i own a 30 gig creative zen vision W. it would just be swoo much cheaper to do that. plus you dont need hundreds of cds... it can all just go onto the player
