Hi everybody.
I have a 2000 MPV that has a bad gas mileage. I have the car since first day and it has only 60,000 miles on it. I recently replaced the plugs , but still the same . could you please somebody help me?
Thanks

Hi back
Well what gas mileage does your MPV get then? It would help to know in giving you an opinion. What engine does yours have, auto or manual trans, etc?
I have a 1990 MPV and get somewhere around 17 city, 20 hwy. I think mine is pretty normal for the year and model mine is.

Well, this is a MPV 2000 with 2.6 engine and Auto transmission. I just have average gas mileage of 16 Mpg. This is included both highway & street. I used to drive above 300 mile with one tank, but now it is only about 260 mile which is not so good I believe. What do you think?
Thanks

Hi again
Well actually, it sounds about right.
I also have a 2.6ltr and mine gets basically the same milage with the exception that mine is a manual trans.
Your automatic would give that extra drain in comparison, ie; 16mpg vs 17mpg. My manual gets 17 and your auto gets 16.
Also consider, we have vans! they are just square boxes pushing down the road. Not excatly aireodynamic.
With the price of petro now, you would not get 300miles out of a tank. Mine gets about 250 max also.

Hi Hamlet! I am new here, I just bought '00 2 days ago. There is 71K on it.
The Gas is 23.5mil/gl 90% Hgway, Indeed.
Usually gas issue is related with some factors:
1. The driver behaviour!! ( is that suddenly happened or...)
2. Tyre pressure!!
3. Spark plug, Air Filter, PCV valve, engine oil..etc...etc..
4. Tow ?? Yes = Bad mileage.
Did you have your vehicle tune up recently? ( light services, see above #3)
This respond is according to my previous cars experiences, maybe wait for the pro's to give you a good respond/advice.
And welcome to this forum!! ( I do believe there are many nice people "live" in this forum.
