hi all
nothing too exciting. i just bought a 97 b2300 pickup. i'm happy because they were asking 4k and i offered 3k and they took it. feels like a solid truck. the owner said that the check engine light comes on when riding through the mountains and it cost a little for the oregon deq to have it turned off... not sure what that meant or why it would happen. i'm having a mechanic look over the truck on monday. hopefully no surprises. it was a single owner vehicle, female driver, used mostly as a commuter. it has a pretty ugly cap, or canopy, as they call it in oregon (i'm not from here), but i suppose i'll need it to keep the rain off of things. any quick advice about keep this truck in shape is welcome. i'll probably post to the truck section after the mechanic scares me.
peas,

the B-series trucks are extremely reliable. My neighbor had a 1987 B-series that had 205,000 miles on it. They are tough trucks. I had a 2001 B3000 myself. I loved it. I put 42,000 miles on it with no problems. Now i have a Mazda 6 with 6000 miles on it. I fall in love with it more and more each day!
