Hi there,
just bought my first mazda a 2002 2.3v6 mazda 6 auto and having a bit of a problem with it. The gearbox will not shift from auto to manual transmission, any ideas anyone??

There are three tiny little microswitches at the base of your shifter. A 'shift up', 'shift down', and 'm range'
The 'm range' microswitch is the one that tells your trans computer that you would like manual shift mode.
That switch has either failed, been gummed up from sticking liquid being spilt onto shifter area, or trigger lever for the switch has been bent or broken somehow.
