Hey Guys,
It has been 2 weeks since I picked up my 2004 6s Sportwagon and one thing I am noticing lately is that the cooling fan or fans. That sucker or suckers run pretty dam loud and for several seconds usually when I turn the car off. I was at the McDonald’s drive thru and heard the droning sound so I moved further up so the cashier didn’t have to hear the loud whir.
Do you guys have the same loud noise on your fans? Just curious if mine is on the way out or not?
Thanks in advance.

I just got off the phone with service guy at my local dealer on another issue, but brought up this same issue. He said cooling fans on 6's have service bulletin out on them. Apparently the control module is bad and the fans run too much. You should be able to get yours replaced/repaired under warranty.

Yep- there is the bulletin. Mine went bad last year, killed my battery. I called up MAZDA, not the dealer, and they sent out a tow truck, paid for the rental and gave me a new battery. The fan ran all the time. Now, it runs great! So, I would get the car in to be fixed before you end up with a dead battery.

Thats pretty funny, I came here to post about this and found this thread. My 05 6s has been over running its fan progressively worse for the past month or so.

Definetly take it in for the fan. It will kill the battery, it has on mine already, and I should be taking her in this week to have it fixed yet again. But, I do have the 03 6s.
