'01 Tribute LX. This just started all of the sudden yesterday. I go to put my key in the ignition and it will go in about halfway and then no farther. After about 10 minutes of jiggling and working it, it finally slips in all the way. Anybody had this problem? Does something just need to be tightened, etc. or will I have to take to the dealer to have this piece replaced? My regular mechanic says he cannot replace this piece if that's what needs to be done, because it will have to be reprogrammed and he doesn't have that capability at his shop. Thanks for any advice!

You could try some graphite in the cylinder, just add a little and work the key in and out.
