I belong to a nnissan forum and there is a ton of interaction!!!
I was hoping to get some info on a real project B2200 I have in the driveway.
hey there dude, welcome aboard...
this forum isn't as old as like "nissansilvia.com" or others, but word of mouth is spreading.
what infor did you need for your project....give us a yell
laters..
I have a B2200 '88 all manual, no power anything (175,000). I bout it from a friend (ex friend) and was told its in great shape. Well 900 bucks in parts for a new exhaust and its still not right. I took it off the road because I got a good deal on a Frontier from the job, but I have a choice with the Mazda, sell it at a loss or turn it into a hobbie stress release project which is what I'm doin.
The issues i have with it are:
Idles rough: I can get it to idle at 800 but it boggs like it wants to stall (but doesn't) enough times to think theres a problem. Plus its not real smooth, jumping about 10 -20 RPMS when idling. When I am accelerating or at hway speeds the thing runs like a raped ape. Think it might be a vacuum issue. I dunno though.
The choke does not work.
Burns oil when its cold.
I am in NY and was wondering if one of thoughs Wagner Carbs would be illegal even if it improves the B's emissions output.
The bench seat is shot. Am thinking of finding buckets from another Mazda, but want to make sure they are high enough.
Needs shocks all around. The front end seems OK, but it is very hard to turn wheel when moving slow or standing still.
Blower speed knob only works on high
Front window leaks
Sun roof does not seal very tight.
Thats it, all in all after looking at the list, it really does not need much, just to resell it, I would not be able to get my money back. It's costed me $2,100.00 so far and I am thinking that its going to cost another fiftenn hundred to make it nice, and I have no idea what they resell for.
