This question might be kind of dumb, but out of curiosity is the RX8 the new version of the RX7?

most likely its the same type of things with the mazda 3 and the mazda 6. completely different but have a name that is very similiar. different parts, look, and price! 87 turbo will be able to tell you for sure when he replies

When I came home with mine, I just bought an 06 manual phantom blue, I told my step father to test it cause he used to own a non turbo RX-7, he loved my car and said it reminded him of his old car.

Ok well the Rx-7 was more of a purebread sports car meant to go to the track and take on Porsches (actually the 944 Porsche to be exact) and be brutal. It had a stiff suspension, oversized brakes, and undersized storage. The Rx-8 is better rounded. Not as fast but comfortable, with newer technology it turns a little better even though softer. Has enough room for 4 people. the markets the cars sell for are completely different. The Rx-7 was for pureists who enjoyed nothing more than thrill and speed and mos tlikely daily drove a Mercedes when they weren't tearing up tracks in the 7. The Rx-8 is for businessmen looking for soemthing fun to escape to after work when they want to let loose or head to the track on weekends and race for fun, not competition.

Based on looks alone, I really really love the RX-8. I think it is so damn sexy. If I had the money I would have an 8 instead of a 3....

I saw a guy in a parking lot the other day with a black 8, he was staring at my car(not sure why) and I was staring at his... What a sexy bitch that thing is...whooo
