I recently had the PCM replaced in my 2003 Mazda 6 after which my two ignition keys had to be reprogrammed. Ever since I got the car back one or other of the ignition keys occasionally won't start the car. Up until now one of the keys would always start the car but on Saturday both keys failed to work and I had to have the car towed to a local dealership (I was parked outside an airport terminal so you can imagine what a nightmare that was).
The dealer has since reprogrammed the keys but the problem still persists. The dealer is now saying that the antenna in the steering column needs to be replaced for $400 but this doesn't make sense to me.
Does anyone have an idea what could be causing the problem. Could it be a possibly be a problem with the new PCM?
