How do I know if the fuel pump is working?
How can I test it?
Should I be able to hear whirring, buzzing, clicking, humming..?
If so, from where should I listen?
I understand on a 1994 the fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank requires removal of the tank to replace it. Can I assume this is also the case with a 1992 Mazda 626 (2.2L, Manual trans) If so, do I have to take out the seat to hear it?
Where can I put a meter to test for voltage?
Can I disconnect the fuel line at some point (fuel filter?) to check for flow?
Car has been sitting for a while. Don't know if there was gas in tank or not or how much. Not my car so I have limited knowledge about it. Could it have rusted frozen or seals and things dry rotted?
(For other details see:

(I NEED it!)
