hey, im buyin a 03 mazda 6

Im still a teen..only 17 this will be my first car, i was thinking about a 01-04 civic but i came along a 03 mazda 6, 4 dr today. Like i said im 17 and dont know a ton about cars....it looks in good condition and i test drove it today and it seemed like a good car except for the brakes i had to apply alot more pressure then my dads 05 corrola, is that normal for mazda 6's? its an automatic but also can be standard lol.. = ), any help on what to look for is appreciated..cause i like this car

Is it a V6 or 4 cylinder? Also how many miles are on it?

The brakes on a Mazda 6 are very nice. They may need to be changed. The brakes on my 6 feel better then any other car I have ever driven besides a BMW. But the 6 is only a $17,000 car. I have 31,000 miles on my brakes. I just started to feel a difference in brake performance.

hey I am 16 and just bought a 2003 Mazda6 i (4 cyl) about 3 weeks ago and love it. It has a lot of bells and whisles on it, apperence pakages and leather seats, heated too, bose sound system. but thats just iceing on the cake really, it handles really nice and it gets pretty decent gas milage considering 80% of the time I am on city stop and go roads; 20-26mpg.
 
Before I got this car I drove my fathere 2005 Honda Accord EX V6 and it accelerated alot faster, obveously being 80+bhp and the brakes were alot more touchy and you hardly had to touch em to feel it, the mazda 6 has vey smooth brakes and yes you may need to press a little harder because every car is different.
 
So yeah how many miles, v6 or 4cyl

I owned 04 mazda 6i and crashed by Bmw. Now I have mazda6s, 06. Why I bought this car again? The brakes on both 4 cy and 6 cy are excellent than honda accord 94 ,camry 97 and 05 ford five hundred. I guess the brake on your testing mazda maybe need to replace new one. I will suguest you buy mazda 6 with side airbags. The front crash on mazda 6 are excellent but not for t-boned.
I have no problems on currect mazda 6s for 8000 miles. I had some problems with old mazda 6i, such as engine light on. Both cars were not used. Currently, the lease on 07 mazda 6i are only $129(24 months) for value edition at my local mazda dealer. It seems like no deposit. It is a bargain.
