I have '99 Millenia with the stock 16inch wheels. I know the correct tire size is 215/55/16, but i'm wondering what other sizes will fit the car. I would like a little bit bigger tire for smoother ride, but how big can i go with out rubbing?

Try Continental Conti's.  I use them and the ride is great.  Remember, you don't have a performance auto but rather what is classified as a :  near luxury auto.  I suggest you keep your 16 inch wheels but check into a different tyre size.

What I am suggesting is that you stick to the 'original' size but go to a different tyre brand.  In the alternative get onto the tirerack.com web site and there you will find different sizes that you can install on your 16 inch wheels.

u can def go one size higher so, you would get 215/ 60/16, and it would def smooth down ur ride 'cause there's more shock absorbtion going on. hope that helps

the taller than stock tires might throw your vehicle speed a little off, let said your travelling on the highway doing 65 on the speedometer, but in reallity your car might be faster than that, i recommend that you go to the tires shop, they can give you a good suggestion. normally, if you go taller, then the width will be narrower
                215/55/16
                205/60/16
you will get a smoother ride, but suffer a bit in the handling
