I just bought a 2003 Mazda 6 last week and now the check engine light is on. I went to autozone and they told me the code it was spitting out was a brake sensor. So please excuse my ignorance when it comes to car knowledge, but what the heck does that exacly mean? What do I have to get fixed?
Any help would be greatly appriciated as I have to get plates for this car and it won't pass the emissions test with the CEL on.

Now that you know it's a "brake sensor", it's time for a trip to the dealership. Possibly an anti-lock sensor? That's the first thing that comes to mind. Let us know what you find out, ok?

This really burns me as I bought this car to replace my 99 cavalier that was beginning to eat all of my money. I have only had my Mazda for 5 days and I am already having problems with it. I guess those are the chances you take buying used but this is not a very good start for me :-(
