What fuel brand(s) do you run?
Personally, I try to stay with the Top Tier Fuels, my options are Chevron/Texaco (both use Techron), 76 and Shell. Top Tier Fuels are primarily based on the detergent package. From the research that I have done premium grade Shell has significantly more detergents in it compared to the other grades. I can't find any evidence that the other premium grades have different levels of detergents compared to the regular grade fuel. It seemed like I got slightly better fuel mileage in my Tundra with 76 fuels, but I don't know what the difference was/is.
I am considering filling up the MS3, when I pick it up, at the Shell across the street from the dealer and then staying with Shell as much as possible. The closest station to my house is a Shell and the prices are reasonable compared to the other local stations.
I know it doesn't make much difference as long as I run quality fuel, but it seems that the engine might do a bit better if the fuel is consistent.
What are your thoughts? Am I a moron?
