I have a 2007 CX9 that I love, except for a few weirdo issues that seem to pop up. Last week I parked my car, and as soon as I turned the key to the Off position, the rear blower turned On, blowing at full speed. I took the key out, the blower continued. As soon as I start the car back up, the blower goes off. I experimented with putting rear controls on, off, putting A/C on, turning rear controls to different settings, but that has no effect on this development. It's always the same -- key Off, blower goes On. Thankfully, it stops after a few minutes.
The dealer has never heard of this issue, and after doing research, they say they don't know why this would happen. I went a few days after that with no problems, and tonight it happened again. One of those things that's not always repeatable on command when you bring to the shop.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks!

Well, I know this may sound like a dumb question... but have you consulted your owners manual?
NEVER take the dealer's word as gospel. They often know less than you do about the little built-ins that modern cars, especially new models, have.
I'm wondering if under certain circumstances the system is designed to come on for a time to... oh I don't know, filter the cabin air? Cool the A/C evaporator, or some-such?
Especially since you state that it runs and then shuts itself off automatically. 'Sounds to me like it may be designed to do that for some reason.

Thanks for the note. I just looked in the manual and nothing jumped out at me. I have had my CX9 for almost a year and a half, and this has never happened throughout that time. Makes me think it's not a planned feature... Good thought though. I was hopeful you had something there...
