I have the mazda 3 2.0 and was looking to maybe buy a catback exhaust... i looked on ebay and kept sawing this "tsudo N1 exhaust" it is a lot cheaper than magnaflow or vibrant. Do you think this will do anything for peoformance? do you think it is a reliable product? and if anyone has one, how does it sound?

I had a Mazdaspeed exhaust on my 2.0, it was very nice. I definitely steer away from ebay on big ticket items, too much counterfeit stuff out there, my opinion is you get what you pay for.

ya i just didnt feel like throwing down 500 bucks for 5-10 hp did yours do anything for fuel economy? i also wasnt sure if the model for the hatchback, or mazdaspeed, would fit the sedan

you really get wat you pay for.
that cheap Tsudo N1 catback is probably made out of shitty stainless steel, and will rust out in no time. plus it probably sounds like ass, and looks like ass.
a got my magnaflow catback for $500. which isnt that bad,
altho im upgrading to a Vibrant catback. these come with a highflow cat.

dentinger, if you are selling your magnaflow, how much are you going to try to sell it for?

$350.
but thats after it gets back from warranty work.
for some reason, my resonator destroyed itself lol
the baffles came loose, so it rattles like a bitch.
OR! i could sell it for $400 with a brand new vibrant resonator.

I couldn't tell any fuel economy improvements due to my fairly heavy feet. I always got great mileage with that car (avg 29, high 35mpg)

with my intake and cat back, i noticed about 100km's more in the city.
altho i lost some when i installed my headers.

well i bet shipping would suck on that exhaust from canada to Texas so i thinki am better off just buying new, but thanks man... how is the exhaust sound on the 3? is it high pitch like a weedeater lol or is it pretty deep... i used to have a 1990 mustang 5.0 with exhaust that sounded incredible i loved it!

well it obviously wont sound like a 5.0 mustang
but it wont sound like a hopped up civic either.
somewhere in the middle. it has a kinda quiet 'burble' at idle.
oh, and fyi, most if not all cat backs are much louder in the first couple weeks of installing them

Ya i am definately not expecting to sound like a mustang but it is good to hear that it wont sound like shit

i have no complains with mine. its loud, but not obnoxiously loud.
its gets twice as loud when you add a header tho lol
and fyi, a header and full catback yeild somewhere around 20whp on a mazda3.

Also, Would ust a performance muffler give me any power?
dentinger

maybe 1 hp... maybe
it will most likely just give you a nicer sound, but imo, full catbacks sound the best...
and as for myself, ive decided to keep my magnaflow a bit longer, and just remove the resonator all together lol.
this outta be fun

ya i figured that it wouldnt much, if anything. That sounds like a pretty good plan with your magnaflow, do you think removing the resonator will add that much power?
dentinger

it wont add any power at all.... but it will make the exhaust louder, and maybe even a but more raspy....
but it will most likely just be for short time.....
i tihnk i might invest in a new catback when i get back from winter vacation....

taking off the heavy resonator is a pretty decent way to save weight...

i bought that tsudo exhaust from ebay. its crap. first, it murdered my horsepower like my mazda 3 is dragging ass. what i can usually get away with third gear now i have to do with 2nd. it will take some time and effort to get to 80 mph. 0-60 is okay but nothing impressive. secondly, it does sound like crap. what it sounds like is a broken muffler when youre going uphill...while towing a trailer.....filled with half a ton of bricks.....and thirdly, my mi/gal is down from 27 to 24. this is actually the main reason why i bought it in the first place. now im just waiting for some good weather and im gonna re-install my factory exhaust. all i need now is what to tell my wife what that long shiny metal pipe is thats hanging in my shop in the basement.i just realized that for a daily driver, the factory exhaust is the best. my neighbors will be happy
