So i went and talked to my local muffler shop and i wanted to do 3" mid piping and magnaflow mufflers. Well he said there isnt enough room on my speed 6 to put mufflers so he suggested to run a large glass pack down the middle and then have straight pipes coming out. To me that didnt sound like a good idea and i would feel more comfortable with magnaflow or borla or something. Tell me guys what you think and what i should do. Thanks

I would think any of the straight flow-through mufflers would work just fine. Borla, magnaflow, & dynomax are 3 that come to mind that should make something that would work.

So i went and checked out another muffler shop and he told me to run 3' piping from the cat to the y pipe and then run 2.5" to the mufflers. He said it will get me alittle back pressure which is needed. Does that sound right or is there a better solution?

Personally 3" is overkill unless you're seriously built up or running with forced induction. Looks cool though.
I think 2.5" would perform better than 3".

unless you are worried about boost creep on the stock turbo, there is a general rule of thumb for turbo cars. the best exhaust is no exhaust! meaning the bigger you go, the better for the most part. obviously, each turbo/car setup will have a point where larger doesn't increase anything, but not sure what that is on the K04/Speed setup. backpressure is something you don't want with a turbo as it slows down spool-up, thus robbing power.
but in all reality, if you run a 3" back to the Y, and you have an efficient Y going into 2.5 to the back....you won't loose anything. as the effective diameter of the 2 pipes is roughly 5"....so there isn't a restriction there.
if you are keeping the stock turbo, then you might be able to save a bit sticking with a 2.5 setup. but if you plan on upgrading, or the extra few dollars doesn't matter....then just go with the 3" and be done with it....it's not gonna hurt anything.

Duh...I brain farted and didn't see this was on a Speed6. Need more coffee.

Alright sounds good. Im probably going to leave the stock turbo in there for now. Maybe a few years down ill drop a big turbo in it. For now im going to do lots of mods tho, cai, bov, front mount intercooler, wastegate, etc. Pretty much everything but the turbo. So i should be fine with the 3 into the 2.5 right. Thanks
