Does anyone have any good tips for breaking in the 2.3 Liter 4 cylinder engine. I finally got the new engine last Thursday. I know you should take it easy on the engine for about 1,000 miles. But I know alot of mechanics have said I should change the oil after 500 to 1,000 miles to get rid of particles that may have got into the engine during installation. Is this neccessary? Also, I have heard people do not reccommend putting synthetic oil into the engine untill 10,000 miles. Is this true? I want to put my AMS oil right into if I can!

heres a pointer...dont let the engine run past 5000 rpms until you reach 1000 miles on the engine.

Yes ^^^ I agree then for Rx-7 at least they say between 2 and 3 thousand miles try and shift pretty late to get the engine used to going throufgh all it's RPM range. If not you're engine will only be used ot revving between 0 and 4 thousand or so then not be able to function properly at the higher RPM.
