Where can I find a door lock relay for a Mazda Protege 2000 ES 1.8L? My door locks don't always open/close; I want to test to see if it's the relay. Mazda quoted me $123, but online, relays for other cars are priced at $7, and regardless, dealers are always overpriced.

Thank you for the anticipated help!

i would check the salvage yards first. these things don't commonly go out, so you should be able to find one there that is good.

Alright. I have never been to a salvage yard, but where can I find one in my area?

Link below to good used part locator. The power lock " relay " is more expensive because it is not a relay but a control module under left side of dash.
There are 3 different ways for power locks to operate. Keyless remote, inner lock button on drivers door, and with key cylinders. Do the locks intermittently not work when using any of these methods or only one of them??
Also, do all four locks not operate when this occurs or just a few. Door lock actuators on the Protege during that model year are weak and very prone to failure.

Hello, at times, they do not work from the keyless entry, inside door switch, and lock cylinder. Sometimes all four won't lock, and sometimes some will and some won't. I noticed that when the temperature is cold, all lock/unlock. When it's hot outside/very hot, usually 2-3/4 won't work. does it sound like a relay..? The actuators seem to be working...
