Dealer quotes on MazdaSpeed CAI for Speed 3

Called today and was quoted $406 for the CAI and $180 for install!!! Isn't $180 a bit ridiculous for installation on an intake? I was thinking more around $75 for install even at dealer labor costs.

i dont think you have to get the dealers to install it.
im pretty sure i read on the warranty somewhere that you still get the warranty on the intake if you install it (or someone else)

and i think up here in southern ontario, ours are something like, $300 ish...
but that could be in US dollars.....

CAI for the MS3 is listed as a "Green" performance accessory. Does not indicate that it needs to be installed by dealer. Only "Blue" is dealer install. Warranty is listed at 12mo/12k miles. Found CAI at onlinemazdaparts for only $310 at link below. If you are considering doing the install and want to see what it will intail, have the dealer make you a copy of the install instruction or pm me with a fax# and will get them to you.

I agree, why are you going through the dealer for that item ? That is crazy expensive , does it have to be that exact 1 you need ?
